CB Stark
CB Stark has been in the business of Island jewelry for decades. With locations in Edgartown and Vineyard Haven, the popular jewelry store has a wide selection of fine jewelry for purchase, in addition to offering jewelry repairs and custom work.
In early June, CB Stark began the process of reopening its doors. The store transitioned into normal business hours after an initial period of appointment-only service. Today, customers are helped by a sales associate practicing social distancing protocols. “We will provide hand sanitizer and masks, if needed,” store manager Sarah York said. “We will also be giving any jewelry that has been touched or tried on an alcohol bath before being put back on the floor.”

LeRoux
If jewelry isn’t quite your speed, LeRoux at Home and LeRoux Gourmet in Vineyard Haven are two great stops for home and kitchen supplies.
Owned by April and Michael Levandowski, LeRoux at Home offers a variety of home goods, including cookware, kitchen appliances, and merchandise for bed and bath.
Meanwhile, LeRoux Gourmet specializes in food. Located just across the street from its companion store, LeRoux Gourmet sells food products and ingredients, including a series of signature olive oils and vinegars.
Customers can stop by either LeRoux location for in-store shopping between 9 am and 6 pm daily, following the state’s and CDC recommendations on social distancing. LeRoux encourages customers who may be uncomfortable with close-contact shopping to call ahead to make special shopping arrangements. Additionally, customers can predict a less crowded store between 9 and 10 am.
The LeRoux website showcases a selection of the two stores’ products, as do the LeRoux Instagram and Facebook pages. Purchases will be available for curbside pickup, or customers can call to arrange contactless home delivery. Both LeRoux locations are represented at lerouxkitchen.com.

Slate and Salte
Another fashionable shopping option is Slate, also found in Edgartown. In addition to its array of clothing and accessories, Slate also offers beauty products rooted in self-care. Customers can browse and purchase from this selection on the Slate website, slatemv.com.
Slate owners Lizzy Hynes and Tom Juster also run a home goods shop under the similar name Salte. Here shoppers can find all sorts of knickknacks and decor, from throw pillows to candles, to tie-dye socks. This selection can be viewed at the store website, saltemv.com (note the change from Slate to Salte).
“We are also doing a lot of virtual appointments with customers, and personal shopping,” Hynes wrote. Both Slate and Salte offer curbside pickup, or virtual shoppers can opt for Island-wide delivery, or shipment to the mainland.

Rainy Day
Rainy Day in Vineyard Haven is an Island favorite, offering knickknacks and assorted goods since 1973. Everyone can find something here, and I do mean everyone. There’s a wall of lotions and soaps in every imaginable scent, many of them locally made. There’s novelty mugs and socks with silly sayings, jigsaw puzzles, and decorations for the home. You’ll find tons of Martha’s Vineyard memorabilia too, whether it be coasters, jewelry, or tote bags.
Rainy Day even has a children’s section, where you can find toys, games, and clothing for the kiddos. With such a wide selection, you wouldn’t believe this little shop only takes up a sliver of Main Street.
Rainy Day is currently open for in-person shopping. Customers are required to wear a mask upon entering the store, and are encouraged to social distance when possible.
Rainy Day also offers curbside pickup and home delivery through its website, rainydaymv.com. Here, customers can browse and purchase a selection of Rainy Day’s products. Customers will be asked to select either pick-up or order shipment during checkout.
