Wasque

Blitzing Fish, Screaming Birds, White Sands, Ripping Tides — this must be Wasque

This is a legendary spot, whether you pronounce it Way-skwee, Waiskee, Wasque. There’s no better fishing when the fishing is good, and no scarier swimming place when the tide is running. In fact, just don’t swim here.

It’s also, recently, the scene of some of the most devastating erosion on the Island. It’s literally disappearing. So the reservation, which was 1,000 acres at one point, might be down by a few by the time you get there. But do get there.
