Bloom into spring fashion, Island style

As the flowers start to bloom and days begin to lengthen, stores are opening their doors and extending their daily hours, which means spring is in the air. Check out a variety of spring colors and styles at these Island shops, and bloom into style this season.

Brickman’s is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm every day except Sunday.

Chicken Alley’s spring collection arrives April 5. Their spring hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm, Saturday 8:30 am to 2 pm. They are closed Sunday. For more information, contact thrift@mvcommunityservices.com.

Martha’s Closet, a consignment boutique in Vineyard Haven, is now accepting spring consignment. They accept and sell women and men’s clothing. Their hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, except Thursday, when they are open until 6 pm. They are closed Sunday.

Vera and Alex sells clothing for children from newborn to 14 years. They are open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, and are closed on Sunday. They are running a 15-percent-off sale on children’s clothing and shoes, now through April.

New Island designer Angela Sison launched her collection of womenswear, Conrado, last year at the Chilmark Flea Market, and has released her first line of spring looks. Conrado pieces are designed by Angela and produced in the Philippines, in her mother’s small family-run factory. Her clothing can be purchased online at shopconrado.com, or you can look for her designs at the Chilmark Flea Market this summer.

Citrine will be carrying a variety of soft florals, feminine silhouettes, and lots of off-the-shoulder options this season. Their spring collection will be in stores soon. Their hours are 9:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday. “After a long winter of layers, flannels, and boots, I feel we are all yearning for some refreshing color and soft, feminine fabrics,” Emma Kiley Bryant said. “This is one of my favorite purchasing seasons so far, and I am so excited for what is to come.”
