West Tisbury turns 125 years old this year, and to celebrate, there will be an old-fashioned family picnic at the Agricultural Hall grounds on Saturday, June 10, from 12 to 4 pm. The day will be filled with family-friendly games, and souvenir gifts will be given out to commemorate the event.
Families should bring their own picnic lunch; however, lemonade, water, and surprise treats will be provided. If possible, bring a dessert to share. Guests can use picnic tables, or families are welcome to bring a blanket and find a spot on the ground. Sophie Abrams and her group will handle the recycling and composting, and families are asked to “carry in, carry out” anything they bring.
Commemorative picnic blankets are available for presale for $15. They will be available at West Tisbury Council on Aging at Howes House, and at Conroy Apothecary, or by calling Debbie Magnuson at 508-693-0081. Please leave four-legged friends home. In case of rain, the picnic will be held Sunday, June 11.
