Summer reads and author talks

Everyone wants a great summer beach read, or porch, or Adirondack chair read. And on vacation you can even read a book to let your mind go somewhere else! All this time for reading makes for a busy season at local bookstores. Authors of some of the hottest books this summer will be reading at events throughout August.

Here’s the lineup of August events held by Bunch of Grapes in Vineyard Haven and by Edgartown Books.

Bunch of Grapes Bookstore

  • Thursday, August 8, Helen Elaine Lee, “Pomegranate,” in conversation with Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.
  • Saturday, August 10, children’s author Valerie Bolling will stop by to sign stock. People are encouraged to pre-order! Time TBD.
  • Monday, August 12, Helen Phillips, “Hum,” in conversation with author James Jennings.
  • Thursday, August 15, Kate Feiffer, “Morning Pages,” in conversation with editor Gretchen Young.
