    June 12, 14: Taste of the Vineyard, Daniel Fisher House & Gardens, Edgartown
    Sample a variety of local foods at the Gourmet Stroll on June 12, featuring the Island’s finest restaurants and caterers.     June 14–15: Pride Weekend, Oak Bluffs
    This 4th annual, family friendly event includes a Pride Parade, a party in Ocean Park, live music, a brunch celebrating drag culture, and more. It enables LGBTQ+ individuals and others to gather together and to foster a sense of community. To learn more, visit obamv.com.

    June 21: HarborFest, Oak Bluffs
    Kick off the summer season with a fun-filled harborside festival in Oak Bluffs. Celebrate with live music, food, art, crafts, and shopping from local vendors. This annual one-day event is from 10 am to 6 pm along Lake Ave. Rain date: June 22. For the latest information, check obamv.com

    Martha’s Vineyard Garden Club, West Tisbury
    Enjoy programs and activities that cover a wide range of gardening topics and offer hands-on experience. The M.V. Garden Club provides an opportunity to meet other people with similar interests, to learn and share together, and to have fun.     Featherstone Center for the Arts, Oak Bluffs
    A community art center offering year-round arts education and experiences for all ages and abilities.     Island Folk Pottery & Sculpture Trail, Chilmark
    Walk along a quarter-mile enchanting trail through the woods and discover whimsical sculptures on the way to an Island Folk Pottery shop. Created by artists Bill O’Callaghan and Heather Goff, the path is open daily from 9 am to dusk.     Polly Hill Arboretum, West Tisbury
    Discover unique trees, cones, berries, and autumn leaves by taking a stroll through the beautiful historic grounds at Polly Hill Arboretum. Guided tours, scavenger hunts, and other activities are often available, and pamphlets can be picked up near the visitor center, which is on a bus route off State Road.     Trustees’ Mytoi Japanese-style Garden, Chappaquiddick
    Take a mindful stroll along winding footpaths that are nestled among a uniquely designed, secluded garden with a tranquil pond. It includes pine and birch trees, flowering bushes, a bridge, benches, and a wooden shelter for quiet contemplation. 9 am to 5 pm. Visit thetrustees.org/place/mytoi.

    Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society, West Tisbury

    Island Alpaca, Oak Bluffs
    Spend some time with adorable and gentle alpacas and learn more about these curious creatures, including where they come from, their interesting behaviors, and why they are important.     Trustees’ FARM Institute, Edgartown
    Find activities for the whole family at the Trustees’ 162-acre working farm in Katama, which has cows, goats, chickens, sheep, and other animals, plus a vegetable garden, pastures, a farm store, and a commercial kitchen.     Films and Theater

    Circuit Arts, West Tisbury
    Experience a vibrant mix of arts programming at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury and venues across the Island. Circuit Arts presents pay-what-you-can film screenings, live theater, dance, comedy, and more. Tickets and event details are available at circuitarts.org.     Martha’s Vineyard Film Center, Vineyard Haven
    In addition to films and documentaries offered year-round, the 11th annual M.V. Environmental Film Festival will be on May 22–25. The 9th annual SPECTRUM Film Festival will be held in June over the course of several weeks in recognition of Pride Month. The 13th annual FILMUSIC Festival will take place from June 26–29.     Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, Vineyard Haven
    Enjoy stage plays, live music, poetry, art exhibits, musicals, and much more at the Island’s only professional year-round theater. M.V.     West Tisbury Farmers Market
    Founded in 1934 by Island farmers in response to the Great Depression. Revived in 1974 by a ragtag group of hippies, yankees, and retired English teachers, the West Tisbury Farmers Market is Martha’s Vineyard’s oldest, largest, and finest open air market. M.V.     Edgartown Village Market, Daniel Fisher House
    Every Tuesday starting June 17, find Island-grown produce, flowers, provisions, and one-of-a-kind goods in an open-air setting.     First Fridays, Vineyard Haven
    At this community-inspired outdoor event on the first Friday of each month, celebrate the local art and culture of the Island. It takes place throughout the Vineyard Haven Harbor Cultural District. Visit firstfridayvh.com.

    Oak Bluffs Open Market, Washington Park
    Shop for Island-grown produce, original artwork, handmade jewelry, fine crafts, summer flowers, specialty foods, and vintage finds in an open market near Oak Bluffs Harbor. It’s like a farmers market, antique show, artisan fair, and a body/mind/spirit expo all in one, plus live music. Every Sunday starting May 25, from 10 am to 2 pm.     Chilmark Flea Market
    During the summer, the Chilmark Community Church sponsors the beloved Chilmark Flea Market every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, weather permitting. It is located at 142 North Road in Chilmark. Visit chilmarkchurch.org.

    Vineyard Artisan Festivals
    Come and see all the new work that Island artists have been working on all winter. There is free parking and admission, catered food, many demonstrations, and a playground for kids. This annual tradition is open Memorial Day weekend, every Sunday starting June 15, and every Thursday starting July 3. Visit vineyardartisans.com.

    Music Concerts

    June 14: 45th Annual Bloomsday Celebration, Katharine Cornell Theater, Vineyard Haven
    This annual event of music, drama, and humor is based on the text and life of James Joyce. Performers include Chris Buehler, Molly Conole, Philip and Hans Dietterich, Mark Lovewell, Maurice “Buck” Reidy, and Pam Schnatterly. Plus a world premiere by composer Philip Dietterich of poem XXXI from “Chamber Music.” It takes place on Saturday, June 14, from 8 to 9:30 pm. Visit artsandsociety.org.

    Music in the Square, Eisenhauer Gallery, Edgartown
    Shimmy over to the courtyard at Eisenhauer Gallery as they welcome back beloved bands for the season. The concerts take place every Thursday, starting June 19, from 6 to 8 pm. The performers include the Mike Benjamin Band, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, Awen Family Band, Blueswitch Blues Band, and more. For details, visit eisenhauergallery.com.

    Outdoor Concerts, Featherstone Center for the Arts, Oak Bluffs
    On Mondays starting June 23, and Fridays starting June 27, enjoy musical performances on the beautiful lawn surrounding the Art Barn’s deck. All tickets for the performances will be sold online starting at 12 pm the week prior to a concert. The lineup includes Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, Jon Zeeman, Grateful Dread, and many more.     Recreation

    M.V. Land Bank’s Annual Cross-Island Hike
    On Saturday, June 7, experience the beauty of the Vineyard on a guided hike across multiple towns along trail systems, short sections of paved or dirt roads, and shorelines. It is usually less than 20 miles and about 7 hours, but participants can opt to walk a portion of the route. For more details and the itinerary, visit mvlandbank.com.

    Enjoy hiking or biking on trails, kayaking on ponds, walking on the beach, and other recreational activities on the protected properties maintained by the M.V.
